An antebellum inspired bridesmaid luncheon...

May 14, 2013

Did you ever watch 'Hart of Dixie'? I quickly became a fan and for us Brit's it really is the only modern day Southern Belle themed media that we have to go on, well that I can think of anyway (feel free to correct me on this one, I would love to know!). If you haven't watched it (you must!), this styled shoot instantly reminded me of one of the shows characters 'Lemon'. Think a blonde 'Bree Vandecamp' (Desperate Housewives) in her hometown spending her days designing, planning, preening and being perfectly proper in every way. She prides herself on turning even the smallest of occasions into the most beautiful of events and playing the ever delightful host she makes it her business to know everyone and everything. To be honest the character is almost a little 'Stepford Wives' and I'm sure she is very much exaggerated. But with that being said, there is something about her way that every woman secretly envies, you only have to see this beautiful shoot captured by Nicole Ryan Photography to see why....

Emily Harmston Cakes

May 13, 2013

You may well recognise the name from my recent post about A Most Curious Wedding Fair or because Emily Harmston Cakes won the bridalNEXT! award of 2013 for 'The Cake' category! This comes as no surprise of course. P-J, the newly-crowned cake queen herself, was handing out tastings of her most popular cakes only to find that the hovering crowds were eating them quicker than she could get them on display! Her beautiful sugar flower branches caused quite the stir too. I knew immediately that I just had to get her beautiful designs on the blog. P-J's cakes have a pretty modern twist on the classics as well as the more abstract and fun designs that are perfectly suited to those choosing to steer down the path of the less conventional event.

Sarai & Jon's engagement shoot...

April 23, 2013

We are bought some exceptional photography from the girls over at Blue Mason Photography today. They spent a day out in the open air snapping each breath of Sarai & Jon's love and captured some truly timeless images. Some images look like film stills from a familiar romantic movie, others are 'fly on the wall' shots that have an overwhelming sense of sincere connection and warmth. I absolutely adore this album and I'm pretty sure you will too x

A Most Curious Wedding Fair

April 21, 2013

Well this weekend has certainly been a whirlwind. At the very last minute we decided to brave the peak hour crowds and travel to London with the kids in tow and explore the world that is A Most Curious Wedding Fair. I was lucky enough to be invited to the press evening where I had room to peruse the wonderful array of seventy or so exhibits from the freshest and most creative talent around. It has to be one of the most diverse wedding fairs I have been to yet, showcasing everything from a badger fascinator (Ellsewhere) to giant colouring in boards (Fancy Features). The atmosphere was alive with the buzzing minds of like minded creatives and friendly faces, helpfully under the influence of Little Brew's free and extremely quaffable beers. And for those of you who were unable to make it here is a handful of my favourite finds....

The new gallery feature...

April 10, 2013

Hi de ho my beautiful readers. Firstly, how gorgeous is that camera strap? So pretty! It's the 'stardust' strap from Bloom Theory, who make an entire collection of them so go check them out! I suppose this is really just a little note to say that I won't be posting anything until next week now as I will be focusing on updating all of our previous weddings and love shoots with their very own galleries that will showcase even more images for you to all swoon over. You may have noticed that the more recent posts already have galleries but if you haven't come across them, here's how to find them...

Rene & Adam's wedding by the lake...

April 8, 2013

I am so privileged to be able to share another completely stunning multicultural. This time German Adam and Chinese Rene brought their cultures and families together for their marriage in the incredibly beautiful setting of the Bridal Veil Lakes in Portland. Surrounded by the woodland in bloom they took their vows, ate under the dappled sunlight and took full advantage of the scenery by going for a row out on the lake and getting their guests to join in with some fun, lighthearted games on the green. Together with their families, Rene & Adam crafted many things for their special day including all the stationery, the decorations for the cake and all of the floral arrangements. I think they managed such a complimentary visual too that worked just perfectly with their surroundings. A truly beautiful day with what looks like such a beautifully relaxed atmosphere. I really love the fact that they had their day their way, entirely. Perfect x

Blue skies and sand castles...

April 3, 2013

Original proposals are so few and far between. The most original of course, are ones that are tailored with personal memories, thoughts and gestures, ones that bring out the couples individuality and character. And this one is no exception. I am so very happy to be able to share such a unique proposal. The white sands against the blue skies and inviting sea give this shoot a sense of purity and freshness. Photographer Karen Harrison has captured the emotions of the day as well as some stunning images of the location and skies. The whole shoot is just breathtaking....

An intimate wedding style shoot...

March 28, 2013

Hands down, my favourite type of wedding is a small intimate day with no expense spared. And when I say "no expense" of course I mean that all the components, no matter how big or small, that the couple have their hearts set on are still included and not struck off the list just because of the guest numbers. This type of wedding is also quite rare to find, especially on blogs. With all my research and avid blog reading I have only ever come across a handful of real intimate weddings. As well as the beautiful photography, the floral designs really caught my eye in this beautiful styled shoot too. I have always been a sucker for Amaranthus and I love how it has been paired with beautiful white calligraphy, the softest most feminine petals and those lovely accents of gold. I love gold! Just fabulous. I would love to see more real weddings like this x
